United took on Thornaby Over 40's for the first ever time hoping to get that elusive first league win of the season on the board but unfortunately United fell just short with missed chances again costing United

Thornaby took the lead after 15 minutes but that was cancelled out by Macer Green 7 minutes later

Unfortunately for United they were behind at the break as Thornaby added a second just before the half time whistle

Thornaby made it 3-1 on 58 minutes but United were pushing hard and scored a penalty with 5 minutes remaining when Mark Naile converted from the spot.

If the game went on another few minutes maybe United could have levelled but again the result goes against the lads despite a valiant effort
