United took on Grindon for the first time in a battle at the bottom of the league
United were missing a number of players and Grindon turned up with two squads so it was going to be tough
A fairly even first half ended 0-0 with both teams having chances to break the deadlock
Grindon took the lead within a minute of the restart capitalising on a mistake at the back to go infront
12 minutes later and Grindon converted a penalty and on the hour Grindon hit United with 3 sucker punches in 4 minutes to got into a 5-0 lead
With 10 minutes left it was 6-0 but United had a chance of a consolation with 6 minutes left when a penalty was awarded for handball but the Grindon keeper made a great save from Chris Sproat to keep the clean sheet in tact
However, the clean sheet wasn't kept as Richy Bland shot across the keeper and into the far corner after being laid off by Steve Sangha to give United a consolation they deserved
Full Time 6-1 to Grindon
