United took on The Cambridge hoping to secure a first win of preseason against a team 3 divisions below them however despite dominating large parts of the game it was The Cambridge who went home triumphant
The Cambridge started the better and were 2-0 up within 10 minutes but om 22 minutes United pulled one back when a Steve Walls shot was heading wide but in slid Mick Smith at the back post to reduce the deficit
United then grew into the game and started to peg The Cambridge back and levelled just after the hour when Scott Stoker crossed into the box and Colin Hagan headed the ball upwards before the ball dropped and he hit a clinical volley giving the keeper no chance
United kept on trying to get the winner but with 3 minutes left a rare opportunity for The Cambridge in the second half seen them take the lead with what was the winning goal.
One more friendly before the season starts for United
