United's first preseason match of the 2025/26 season seen the lads come up against Plains Farm with both teams promoted last season from the second division to the first
It couldn't have started worse for United as a mistake at the back allowed Plains Farm to capitalise and go 1-0 up after 90 seconds
United thought they had went further behind when a cross was put in Maradona style with the hand. The referee gave the goal but fair play to the Plainsy lads as they told the referee and he ruled it out
On 25 minutes though another mistake allowed Plains Farm to actually go 2-0 up when they bundled the ball in from a corner and it got even worse for United two minutes later when a ball over the top was lobbed over the advancing Steve Barnes and into the net
United were given a bit of a lifeline just after the half hour when Mark Naile was adjudged to have been fouled by the keeper in the box and Steve Walls stepped up and coolly converted the spot kick
Half time and it was 3-1 to Plains Farm
United were much improved in the second half and made a few chances but it wasn't until the 73rd minute when United scored their second of the game. Iain Ray found Stu Bowman who in turn found the top corner with a worldie of a goal
With two minutes left United deservedly drew level when Scott Stoker's through ball seen Richy Bland through on goal and he put the keeper on the floor before rounding him and blasting into an empty net
A superb comeback from the lads and a good start to preseason
