United travelled down the A19 looking to keep their unbeaten run going but with a mixture of key players missing and a referee who was friendly with the home team it just wasn't to be and United suffered their first league defeat of the season
It got off to a good start when Mark Doleman took the ball off a defender before hitting the back of the net just after the 10 minutes mark and it could have been more a few minutes later when Michael Smith megged the right back before curling an effort goalwards which was tipped onto the bar by the keeper. Ian Pattison on his United debut also had a chance when the ball was pulled back to him however the shot went over the bar
At half time United were in control and leading 1-0. Steve Curry came on to replace Jason Cairns on the right hand side
Redcar levelled the game 5 minutes into the second half in controversial style as the ball looked to have gone out of play only for them to hit the back of the net despite United's pleas and then 2 minutes later Wes Cornes replaced Michael Smith for Untied
Despite Joe Walters best efforts on 50 minutes saving the first effort, the striker managed to somehow flick the ball into the back of the net from the ground to put Redcar undeservedly in front and despite further efforts from Steve Walls who hit a shot from the edge of the box over the bar and Mark Doleman getting played clean through and the Redcar keeper making a great save somehow Redcar took the 3 points
Back home next week for United and hopefully get back to winning ways
