Vedra went into today's game against Waldridge Park missing Millie and Brayden from their game last week. Jack was making his Vedra debut today though as the side looked to build on their victory last week.
Unfortunately it wasn't to be for Vedra today as they struggled to get into the game at all. Alfie in goal had already had to make a good save before Waldridge opened the scoring in the 4th minute with a goal from a good finish from a corner. 1.0
Logan was battling hard up front and managed to create himself an opening in the 8th minute but unfortunately shot wide. Just afterwards Vedra were again undone from a corner as Sam failed to clear and the ball was hit home by the Vedra forward. 2.0.
Waldridge were really on top as Vedra couldn't get going and gave their opponents too much time and space. Alfie had to make another save and James H and Ryan were having to make a number of tackles. Vedra did have another chance to get back into the game when Logan was fouled near the edge of the box. Sam took a good free-kick which was saved by the Waldridge keeper. Vedra didn't follow up the droip down properly but after a half clearance from the defence James H hit a shot just wide from outside the box.
This was the best part of the half for Vedra but it quickly went down hill as Waldridge scored 2 goals. One from a break from a Vedra corner to make it 3-0 followed by a good finish from outside the box to make it 4-0 at half time.
The second half was quite a scrappy affair as both sides struggled on the bobbly pitch. Vedra were note really at the races and had to rely on a great blocking tackle from Jack and a couple of good Logan saves to keep the score down to 5-0.
All in all a very bad at the office for Vedra. As a team they looked a but tired today but as all agreed they are all good enough to put this behind them in future weeks. Logan was today's Star player for his hard work whilst up front and a couople of good saves when in goal.
