Wear United Under 15s Yellows 5 v 2 Fishburn Community

Great game for the Yellows this morning
Back to League action for the Yellows today as the faced Fishburn at home. The game started really well with Leon having a half chance before Ryan opened the scoring with a free-kick thumped in at the near post to make it 1.0 after 12 minutes.
This quickly got better for Wear as good work from Oscar set Reggie clear down the right. His cross found it's way to Ryan on the edge of the box to hit home and make it 2.0. Sean then made things even better as he was found 18 yards out and placed a great shot into the bottom corner to make it 3.0 after 17 minutes.
The half continued well with both sides playing nice football. Lenny, Thomas and Leon had half chances for Wear and Kaden Finley and Ollie had to be on their toes at the back to keep Fishburn at bay. Late in the half Callum had to rush off his line to make one of his trademark blocks to keep the score as 3.0 at Half time.
The second half started badly for Wear as Reggie had to go off injured after clashing knees with the opposing full back. It almost got worse as Callum had to produce a smart save from a nice shot on the turn from the Fishburn forward.
Ryan hit the bar with a great shot before mid-way through the half, Fishburn got the rewards their performance deserved with 2 quick goals to make it 3.2.
This though had been through general good play from the opposition and not the standard Yellows wobble. They quickly turned things around with Lucas's shot saved and finding Lenny. He set himself and placed a lovely pass back to Sean who made it 4.2 with 10 minutes to go.
The game was still end to end as proven by a sequence where an excellent shot from a Fishburn player was brilliantly pushed onto the bar by Callum. Wear then raced up to the other end and Oscar battled his way through and his shot was also pushed onto the bar by a fantastic save from the Fishburn keeper who was excellent throughout.
late in the game Thomas could have had a penalty but it was left to Mason to complete the scoring with a goal from inside the 6 yard box after Sam's free-kick was saved.
It was a great game that both sides put a lot into. Callum received Star player this week but there were excellent performances throughout the side.
