Yellow well beaten by determined opposition

Wear United Yellows were back in action against Roseberry Park who they had narrowly beaten earlier in the season. The game started busily with Roseberry creating a great chance from the yellows kick off. Wear went straight up the other end with Sam putting a cross in that Sean could quite manage to put away.
The opening minutes were very busy, with Roseberry opening the scoring in the 3rd minute with a long ball that their forwards raced onto to score. This was to be a theme of the game as Roseberry were quicker to the ball and quicker to pass the ball. They extended their lead in the 13th minute. Callum had cleared come out of his goal and cleared for a throw in. Whilst 3-4 Yellows players switched off Roseberry quick thinking saw them take the throw and set up their striker to double their lead.
Slowly the effort levels increased for the Yellows. Sean putting the pressure on the Roseberry defenders saw the ball fall to Reggie who made no mistake with his shot to make it 1-2 and put the Yellows back in the game.
The Yellows were now back in the game and after forcing a couple of corners, almost equalised when Sam dragged the ball back on fired towards goal, only to see the the ball brilliantly blocked just off the line.
Just as it looked the Yellows were going to get back into the game, Roseberry increased their lead just before the end of the half as a communication mix up at the back saw Kaden unfortunately poke into his own goal to make it 1-3 at half time.
The second half needed to see a big improvement from the Yellows but unfortunately it was Roseberry who increased their lead with a goal that was indicative of the issues that have plagued the Yellows over recent weeks. A hopeful ball through saw 2 Yellows defenders 6-7m nearer to the ball than the Roseberry attacker. Unfortunately the fact that the Roseberry player was much livelier and determined to get to the ball saw him beat the Wear players to the ball and cross for his unmarked teammate to score.
Wear did try in the second half but went further behind as another good break from Roseberry combined with some sloppy defending saw them score the final goal to make it 1.5.
Later in the game the Yellows did play some better football but only really created the one chance as Thomas hit the post from a Sam Free-kick.
This game was really a lesson for the lads in what they need to do to get the season back on track. Roseberry were a good side that showed exactly what determination and willingness to work for yourself and your team mates can get you in a game. Sean, Mason and Sam all had good games for the Yellows but it was Reggie who won Star Player this week.
