Following a 9-3 thumping defeat to Whickham on Friday night the Yellows had an early Saturday morning fixture away to Whitburn and Cleadon. A generally poor game of football on a very tight pitch saw no goals in the first half, with Ollie Turton, Callum and Finley being particularly good for the Yellows.
In the second half the Wear managed to get a bit more on the ball, especially Sean and Mason in Midfield. The first goal game around 7 minutes into the half as good play from Lucas saw him put the ball across the box and Sean game in to finish well from 18 yards out.
The second followed later in the half as good pressing from Thomas saw the Whitburn keeper clear a backpass straight to Riley who finished well from just outside the box.
Whitburn kept pushing and Callum had to be good in goal to deservedly take home the Star Player award. Overall not a great game and a bit lucky to get the win.
