A trip to Silksworth this week for Vedra to play Wearside Wanderers. Another big squad of players saw the lads looking to get back on track following defeat last time out.
Unfortunately the lads could only play in patches during the game. Wearside had more of the ball first half but neither side created too many chances and it was 0-0 at Half-time.
Second half Vedra started better and created some half chances for Mick Graham and Anthony Spedding but it was Wearside who opened the scoring after 55 minutes after Vedra failed to clear on more than one occasion.
It didn't take long to get back into it for Vedra as Mick Graham latched onto the ball to score from the edge of the box. The scoring though was fairly rapid at both ends as a defensive mistake and more than a suspicion of offside saw Wearside go ahead again with a far post tap in after Tom Chapman saved the initial effort to make it 2.1.
Vedra huffed an puffed to try to create something but it was Wearside who looked most dangerous going forward on the break and they completed the win the with a snap shot that went in at the front post.
3.1 in the end flattered Wearside a bit but Vedra need to get back to their early season form.
Star Player this week was Issac Flemming for a very consistent performance at the back.
