Vedra were back in action at Ford Hub for the league game against Grange Villa. The game started badly for Vedra who weren't at the races at all. Grange dominated the game for the first 35 minutes and were rewarded when a free-kick was thumped into the top corner from around 25 yards to give them a deserved lead at half-time.
Vedra's only chances in the first half had come on the break when Olly Cowie was sent away but put the ball wide at the final moment. Olly was not to be denied though and after a great start to the second half it was him that brought Vedra level after being put through by Ben McRory. It could have got better for Vedra as Mick Graham had a couple of good chances and Jonny Stone couldn't quite turn the ball in from corner. This was all before Grange got themselves going again and Vedra had to rely on some good defending, notably from Isaac Fleming and Louie Bradley, as well as some very smart goalkeeping from Tom Chapman, to keep the scores level.
The last few minutes were quite end to end. With three minutes to go Jamie Williams sent Cowie away again. Olly beat 4 Villa players before casually putting the ball in to put Vedra 2-1 up with an excellent goal.
With only minutes left Vedra were hoping to hang on but determined play from the Grange winger saw him equalise with 30 seconds to play.
Although it was disappointing to get a draw after being in front with seconds to go in truth a defeat for Grange Villa would have been harsh on the balance of play in the game. Tom Chapman received the man of the match award from the opposition which was a very fair reflection of his performance.
