Vedra returned to league action today with an increased squad and full of optimism after good performances in the previous games. The game started well for Vedra with them on the front foot and creating half chances and having good possession going forward. The lads deservedly went ahead after around 20 minutes as a corner from Michael Graham was helped into his own net by the ATW keeper.
Tom Chapman had a make a couple of saves at the other end but it was Vedra who looked closer to scoring when another corner was deflected towards his own goal by an ATW defender before he saved by a colleague with a goal-line clearance.
The second half started badly for Vedra as a good move and finish from ATW saw them draw level. The next 15 minutes were tough for Vedra as they struggled to get into the game. ATW had some shots but Tom Chapman wasn't called into action too often. Eventually Vedra got back into things. Ben McRory forced the keeper into a good save when through one on one and just afterwards Jamie Williams hit the post when in a similar situation. The game was quite end to end at the end. Ben Anderson had a brilliant run and shot saved and ATW had numerous shots off target. Overall a draw was about a fair result though on chances Vedra did do enough to win it. Ben McRory was Star Player this week for a very good performance particularly in the first half.
