This would be Vedra's first game of 2022 so the lads were in good spirits and excited to get the year off to a good start.

That being said the game started badly for Vedra with an early missed penalty by Ben Roberts and then Houghton going 1-0 up all within 15 mins.

The early set back seemed to spark Vedra into life and they began to dominate the game. The domination paid off with Connor Keith finishing a lovely passing move. 1-1

Vedra continued to dominate the game with Houghton getting little to none of the ball. Again, the dominance of Vedra paid off with another great passing move which ended with Connor Keith teeing up Brandon Collins and Brandon provided a brilliant strike to put Vedra 2-1 up just before half time.

The second half continued the same for Vedra with the lads playing excellent quick passing football.

A couple of chances which Vedra could and should have put away from corners but good defending from Houghton meant it stayed 2-1

Finally the goal Vedra were looking for to cement the victory came with 15 minutes left on the clock - Connor Keith with a magnificent strike to beat the keeper from 30 yard.
