Another really tough match against a well established division 2 side.

Vedra went behind early thanks to a fantastic strike from outside the box, straight into the top corner. The 2nd goal followed soon after because of a defensive error, big shouts for offside which wasn’t given.

Major injury struggles massively effected the flow of the game with Adam, Clint, Kieran, Kevin all limping off within the 1st half. By halftime the lads were 4-0 down with numerous injuries and frustrations high with the referee. We started the 2nd half solid but without much offensive threat. Adam Barrass and Callum White massively strengthen the defence and their pace supported us going forward. Mark and Kieran are forming a great partnership controlling the midfield. Sam and Kyle never stopped working up top despite having very few chances.

The 2nd half saw more injury problems and a sin-bin for player/manager Dylan Rush. Following a set piece and another defensive error the referee blew this whistle and the game ended at 6-0.

Despite the result this was much improved on last weeks performance, our passing was fantastic and defensively looked much more solid. More preseason matches/training to follow to build on our fitness and team bonding. Special mention to Callum White (MOTM) who was outstanding in the Right Wing Back position, his energy levels drove the team forward and he looked solid in his defensive role. Plenty more preseason matches for Vedra as we look to improve our movement/conversation rate in the final 3rd whilst continuing to finalise our team tactics for the upcoming season.
