United took on Seaham United hoping to get their first 3 points on the board especially after completing the double over them last season

Last seasons aggregate score was 12-8 to United so it suggested there would be goals in the game and indeed that was the case with a 14 goal thriller

United took 3 seconds to score as Gareth Downes laid the ball back to Chris Wasey who lobbed the keeper from inside his own half to put United 1-0 up

3 minutes later and United doubled their lead as Theo Weiss converted from a Dan Godfrey assist

It was 3-0 to United after 18 minutes when Theo added his second goal with the assist coming from Gareth Downes and the on the half hour, United were coasting and went 4-0 up when this time it was Theo assisting Gareth who made it 4-0

United seemed to switch off a bit and allowed Seaham to add two goals in the 32nd and 40th minutes to make it 4-2 but United went into the break 5-2 up as Theo completed his hattrick with Anth Young assisting

Seaham scored early in the second half to make it 5-3 but on 57 minutes Theo intercepted a defensive pass and made no mistake in making it 6-3

However a Wear United collapse seen Seaham score three goals in 6 minutes to level the tie and from this stage, with United having no subs and a lot of tired legs the game could have went either way but thankfully United dug in and made it 7-6 with 10 minutes left when Theo Weiss added his 5th with Anth Young grabbing the assist and then in the final minute Anth Young got his goal converting Tyson's ball across goal to give United the 8-6 win
