The first league game of the season seen United take on Prior FC and following a draw and a defeat last season United wanted to start the season with a positive result

It started really well for United as within 2 minutes the ball was in the back of the net when debutant Adam Drysdale played in Theo Weiss who converted at the bottom left corner. 1-0

However, the youthful and fast Prior managed to score two quick goals in the 15th and 16th minute to go 2-1 up and went into the break 3-1 up with a goal added in the 37th minute

United made 4 changes at the break but another two minute goal cameo in the 58th and 59th minute seen the Prior go 5-1 up

This however seemed to kick United into life and Paul Stokoe set up Adam Drysdale in the 70th minute to make it 5-2 with Paul Stokoe then pretty much mimicking the setup to this time see Anth Young convert a great header a minute later to make it 5-3

Dan Armstrong then capitalised on a mistake to lob the keeper with 9 minutes left to make it 4-5 and the momentum was with United but as the lads pressed for an equaliser Prior capitalised with a good strike from distance with 2 minutes left to win the game 6-4

Despite the defeat there is plenty positives to take from the game and one game doesn't define the season.
