A team made up of both Vedra and United players turned up to the first friendly of the season hoping to get preseason off to a good start, but nobody was expecting it to be this good against a team who were New Derby last season, which completed the double over United with a 10-3 win & a 6-3 win

Vedra took to the stage first with a few United players making up the 11 as a couple Vedra lads were running late. It didn't start great as ATW took the lead after 4 minutes to lead 1-0

However, the Vedra spirit shine through and they didn't let their heads drop and thanks to 2 goals from Jamie Coates and one from Michael Graham they went into a 3-1 lead.

ATW scored again before half time to make it 3-2 but Vedra won their 45 minutes!

United then stepped up for the second half and within 10 minutes of the restart the score was 6-2 as Dan Armstrong and a brace from Corey Bell strengthened United's hold on the game

Anth Young and then Gareth Downes then both scored to make it 8-2 before ATW added their third.

Straight from the restart United went forward and added a ninth goal thanks to Theo Weiss

The last goal of the game fell to ATW but United/Vedra went home 9-4 winners with so many positives for both teams to take away from the game
