United played another post season friendly and this time took on Division 4 side Velocity Colliery Tavern
United had a squad of 16 available at the start of the game with a 17th player turning up at half time and had 2 debutants in the squad
The game started well and United didn't look like a team a division below the opponents and United took the lead when a superb Ross McLagan cross to the back post was headed home by Kevin Philliskirk after 18 minutes
United were controlling most of the game with keeper Leon Hurst having very few touches at all but somehow United went into the break 2-1 down with goals in the 39th minute and a blatant offside goal which was allowed on the stroke of half time
United made 5 changes at half time and again started the half well but on 50 minutes conceded a third
Scott Stoker marked his United debut with a goal on 62 minutes being set up by Theo Weiss but from the kick off Colliery Twavern went up the other end and made it 4-2 to regain their two goal cushion
With 10 minutes left it looked like Colliery Tavern had put the game to bed as they went 5-2 up but United never gave up and Scott Stoker added his second before Theo Weiss also found the net to make it 5-4 with a minute left but United couldn't find that last chance to level and went away in defeat despite a positive performance
