United took on FC Romanos for the first ever time hoping to get back to winning ways following two consecutive defeats. Romanos had lost both their league games so far this season but now have 3 points on the board following a shocking performance from United
United had to make an early change with Dan Cairns picking up a hamstring injury after 18 minutes with Nath Fryatt replacing him and United having to reshuffle with Josh Summerside going into right back and Micky Taylor dropping into midfield
The first sucker punch came in the second minute of stoppage time when Romanos took the lead through a United mistake. United lost the ball just outside of their own box and it was lobbed over Chris Sproat and into the net. 1-0
A dressing down at half time and it was hoped that United would improve in the second half but unfortunately, they didn't and within 5 minutes of the restart Romanos doubled their lead when a through ball was converted to make it 2-0 and 4 minutes later Romanos extended their lead to 3 with a shot from the edge of the box
United then had further injury issues with Rob Weiss having to come off due to a rib injury with Dan Cairns coming back on in his place
The 70th minute was a busy one. Firstly, Romanos scored their 4th goal when a suspicious offside wasn't given when the ball was sqaured and it was put in the net. Josh Summerside got sin binned for telling the referee what he thought of him and United made a double change with James Palmer & Alex Clark replacing James Slack & Jay Forster
In the 79th minute Dan Godfrey replaced Micky Taylor and a minute later Dan Cairns couldn't continue anymore so Luke Duddin replaced him
Another square ball was converted on 83 minutes to give Romanos their fifth and final goal of the game
